This study deals with magnetic Barkhausen noise emission produced by strain-induced martensite generated during shot peening of austenitic AISI 304 stainless steel. The transformation from the paramagnetic to ferromagnetic state and corresponding birth domain structure are important respect irreversible motion walls emission. is investigated explained residual stress as well microstructure expressed in terms fraction, its crystallite size, preferred orientation, surface topography, microhardness. strength mainly linked number cycles, Almen intensity, associated volume fraction extent depth. role phase minor.
